Monmouthshire County Council, Wye Valley AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Wye Valley’s Community Councils are asking residents of Devauden and other villages to view proposals for the Wye Valley Villages Project as part of a consultation process.  The deadline for the consultation has been extended to 30th September.

A report providing a strategy and action plan for the villages on a range of issues, such as road safety and village infrastructure, has been produced by consultants and those who live, work and visit the areas within the report area are now being encouraged to read it and respond with their opinions, comments and suggestions.  For Devauden, the report proposes a 20 mph speed limit in the village, publically accessible WiFi, public parking and electric vehicle charging at the village hall, cycle paths and several other changes.  The report suggests the the village green is transformed into a space which supports multiple uses and enhances the sense of place.

The consultation closes at midnight on 30th September.
